my Christmas movie craziness.

Before I start this I have to warn you…  this is craziness.  You might be disturbed by what you’re about to read.

I have a very intense Christmas movie tradition.  It started when I was little and I hold fast to it to this day.  I’m one of those people who can watch the same movie over and over and over again.  Which works out well since that’s what my Christmas movie tradition includes.

These are the movies that I must watch every year.

–  Home Alone

–  Miracle on 34th Street

–  Elf

–  Christmas Vacation

–  It’s A Wonderful Life

–  Charlie Brown Christmas

–  How the Grinch Stole Christmas

–  Jingle All the Way

–  A Christmas Story

–  The Santa Clause

I love all Christmas movies.  All of them.  And I know my list doesn’t exactly include classics, for the most part, but it’s been carefully crafted since my childhood.  There are some questionable choices in there [Jingle All the Way??  You’re my #1 customer!] but I love it.

I ALWAYS start with Home Alone and then Miracle on 34th Street.  Those are my top 2 favorites EVER.  Oh, and the new [and by new I mean 1990’s version] Miracle on 34th Street.  I like the classic but love the little girl and the cast in the newer one.  I watch those 2 movies repeatedly throughout the season.  Once I’ve watched those 2 movies either right before or right after Thanksgiving, I can start watching the others.  I must watch them all by Christmas.  And this is the list of my collection, but thanks to ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas, I can watch another billion Christmas movies.  Quality ones, at that.  If you’ve never seen an ABC Family original Christmas movie, you are missing out, let me tell you.  Quality.  Tommy makes fun of me for my love for ABC Family movies, and I can’t say I blame him.  I should be ashamed to even write this post.  I’m not a 12 year old girl after all.  But where else will I get to watch the Santa Clause 2 and 3??  No one else airs those type of quality Christmas movie sequels.  Anyway, I DVR and watch those movies throughout the season now, too.

I love Christmas season evenings when I can light a candle that smells like Christmas, sit by my tree, and wrap presents while watching a Christmas movie.  And probably eating cookies, fudge or candy.  Hello holiday weight gain.

Home Alone

Miracle on 34th Street

Are you terrified now?  If you didn’t know I was type A before, my regimented Christmas movie schedule and sharing it with the world should take care of that.

Merry Christmas!

i'd love to hear from you...
